Trip Report

Robinson Creek - South — Sunday, May. 25, 2025

North Cascades > Pasayten
Robinson Mountain

Hiked in about 4 miles, and set up camp at an established site just before the third bridge (where the trail crosses back to the south side of Robinson Creek).

Road Conditions. The last 2 miles or so were unpaved, flat and wide, but a bit washboarded. Vault toilet at the trailhead.

Trail Conditions. Pleasant trail with sturdy bridges, the only obstacle were 2 large blowdowns, the first of which was half a mile past the wilderness boundary, and big enough to be impassible to stock. Slightly overgrown in places. Despite following a river, access to running water was limited to 3-4 spots along the trail. According to another hiker, solid snow started 6 miles in.

Highlights. Lots of wildflowers in bloom (incl arnica, fairy slipper orchids, chocolate lilies, clematis, serviceberry, and glacier lilies). The only wildlife we saw was a rattlesnake (just off-trail, in some rocks).

Crowds. Plenty of parking. Encountered a dozen parties on the way in, and another dozen on the way out (including one party on horseback), all doing day trips.
