Third trip report for Lake 22 today--hooray! Super stunning view and a very fun hike to boot.

Arrived at 7:25am-ish to an all-but-full parking lot--the last four spots in the parking lot were scooped up before we even finished our stretches.

As mentioned in Mama Wert's trip report, the trek up to the lake has a lot of personality--you'll travel over forest floor, rocks, roots, small streams, more rocks, stairs... did I mention the rocks? That talus slope is sure something! There are two blowdowns that slightly obstruct the trail, but it shouldn't be too difficult to duck under and climb over for most. Bags of gravel and logs have been staged for maintenance work along the trail but they do not pose any issues.

As implied by the fullness of the lot, the trail was busy! Definitely recommend getting here earlier rather than later--the lot and the side of the road for about a quarter of a mile leading to the trailhead was full when we left at 12:20!
