We went hiking with two families and two dogs along the Greenwater River. The river was running pretty fast, with lots of rapids and a nice constant thrum. There are many bridges (in good shape - apparently pretty new) that take you back and forth across the river. Lots of wildflowers blooming (including trillium, my favorite!) and the forest was lush with ferns. We did just over three miles out (6 miles total) and turned around soon after the second lake.
There seemed to be ample parking. The trail was not too busy on a Sunday afternoon - we passed people every once in a while but mostly we were on our own. One thing to note - on the way to the trailhead the road passes an outdoor firing range. I was glad someone mentioned it ahead of time as we did hear some gunshots.
