What a wonderful weekend! The road to the summer trailhead (Snow Peak Trail #10) is in good condition, and we reached the trailhead around 10:30am. The bathroom was open and stocked.

The snow melted a fair bit between when we hiked up and when we hiked out two days later - when we hiked out, there was intermittent snow for a little over a mile from the cabin, followed by dirt trail to the trailhead. We postholed a fair amount through the snow, but I'm glad we didn't bring snowshoes, as I wouldn't have wanted to transition so much between snow and dirt with them. Gaiters and poles were very useful, didn't use microspikes. I suspect conditions will change rapidly in the coming days/weeks.

On Sunday, we hiked up Snow Peak, which was a lovely off-trail jaunt. We shared the top with a small army of ladybugs.

The cabin was lovely as ever - plenty of firewood. We melted snow for water.
