Lovely hike, negligible elevation gain, many views of Icicle Creek which is in high flow right now. We are in our 70s, experienced hikers (back in the day), and both agreed there was the right mix of shade and sun, river and mountain views, and well-placed spots to pause and take photos. There are a few narrative displays giving information about wildlife, geology, ecosystem of the area, and those just added to the experience. The river, the birds, and the squirrels are the only noisemakers you'll encounter. Trail is clean and maintained beautifully. Mosquitos were hungry, but if you keep moving or get to a breezy area they leave you alone. The paved road was fine, but the gravel/dirt portion had some minor rough spots.
