Guye Peak — Saturday, Jun. 7, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Snoqualmie, Lundin, Red

Good morning hike up to Guye Peak with Ups n Downs, and our friend Brian. We started at 7:10am. Trail is snow free up to the intersection with the Guye Peak Trail. This rocky trail is snow free until you start to make the turn to head up the saddle between Guye Peak, and Cave Ridge. Here there are a couple of snow patches to negotiate. The first one is a bit steep. No problem going up, but one of us slipped going down. There are a couple of snow patches before the pond, but pretty easy to go across. After the pond, and just before the flattish section below the summit, there is a steep snowfield left that is a little tricky. I put on spikes here, and went straight up in the snow. The others went around to the right in a mini-moat. I use this way to get down. The summit block is snow free, and the rock is dry. We spent about 45 minutes on the summit admiring the views on this beautiful morning. We didn't see anyone on our way up, or while we were on the summit, but ran into about a half dozen other hikers on our way down. Fantastic morning!!

Steep snow section. Easier to go around to the climbers right, especially on the way down
