The trail up to Mason Lake was perfect with no bugs and no snow, we did however end up turning around before Mt Defiance because the bugs became annoying and the smaller snow crossing made the hiking a little unpleasant and muddy.
Beautiful views from the mason lake trail though, and the water temperature of mason lake was perfect!
