The trail is clear and lined with plenty of forest growth. Notable find for the day was wild ginger. This trail has such a significant incline that breaks were needed along the way, even though it is a short distance. I lost count of how many switchbacks to the top, but the elevation is good enough you can pop your ears about 5 times coming down. The view at the top was great, even with some intermittent clouds and fog. Was able to see Dabob bay, Hood Fjord, and even possibly as far as Bainbridge Island. Berries such as salal, huckle, and oregon grape were present but not yet ripe. Only wildlife present was (maybe) a douglas squirrel and a grey jay.
The parking at the trailhead was nearly full. If you are simply wanting to experience the view, drive the road to the top. Otherwise, be reminded of muscles you forgot you had.
