The view from the old Airplane beacon tower on Kachess ridge is wonderful but be aware you will climb (and descend!) some steep parts of the trail and have to deal with LOTS of downed old trees. Once the trail breaks off from #1315 to be #1315.3, you will be climbing and encountering about twenty downed trees, some of which you can hop over, but some require balance skills. Definitely consider a hiking stick. The section of Kachess Rige trail beforehand (#1315) that goes along Silver Creek is lovely and stretches are accessible for water fill. Up at the Beacon tower, wonderful wildflowers, including more scarlet gilia in one place than I have ever seen.
