From the cutoff from the Palouse-To-Cascades (MT WA), the trail is initially pretty bushy and rocky with some tree limbs in my face (I'm 6'4"). Turning onto the Great Wall trail is only briefly brushy and rocky too but then becomes a nice pine needle soft / mossy trail thru the trees with a nice viewpoint (at 3.5 miles from the TH). Flowers (lupine mostly) are in bloom along the road/trail portion. We saw a Snooty Grouse along the way as well as a salamander on the rocky scramble further up. Unfortunately, the Mountain was not out on this day.
10.25 miles, 3200' gain.
BTW - I'm hiking with a dog again. Pee Wee is our new one and this was his longest hike yet. He had some sore paws but recovered quickly and was ready for action the next day.

I forgot to mention that there was bear scat on the trail up high. One of the 2 piles looked fairly fresh.
