Came back to this trail for the lush green season and it did not disappoint! It's so magical this time of year. Though it was raining for about a third of the trip :) Took three days to hike to the chalet and back, camping at Pyrites Creek and Enchanted Valley. Noted that once again my gps tracked this as a shorter hike than listed - this time at 11.5 miles to the chalet, with the Pyrites Creek campgrounds at 8 miles. Campgrounds were not busy, and I encountered most other hikers on my way out. Did a day hike towards Anderson Pass on day 2 about 4.5 miles round trip and did not encounter any snow; turned around at a water crossing I did not feel comfortable doing alone on slippery logs. No bear or elk sightings, but lots of woodpeckers, banana slugs, and wildflowers. A few salmonberries at lower elevation and blueberries beginning to emerge past the chalet. Would wear pants/leggings over shorts as several parts of the trail are rather brushy and/or lined with nettles. Would have recommended the Graves Creek Road as 'for high clearance vehicles only' were it not for some of the cars that I saw had made it to the parking lot successfully (including a low riding sports car).
