We hiked a portion of the Lakes trail at Coldwater Lake today. The trail is good - overgrown somewhat in a few areas and muddy in others (where there are stream crossings). Wildflowers are blooming profusely - lupine lined the trail in many areas . . . numerous paintbrush, tiger lilies, daisies, foxglove . . . some penstemmon, yellow monkey flowers and more. In the six miles that we hiked, we only crossed paths with a couple people - all of whom were very respectful. Restrooms at the trailhead were open. It was a great hike on a beautiful day.
