Great hike. Our first alpine lake. One tip for those who follow, the best view when you get to Lake Ann is the north-east corner. When you get close to the lake, the trail starts splitting as hikers try to navigate the mud in the flats. With the best views on the north-east always stay right in the flats. You will end at a boulder field with open views and shoreline access. Keep an eye out for the marmots. We found at least one in every boulder field to include the lake.
