The good news is that the road is in decent shape, as long as you aren't too precious about your paintjob. The bad news is that it's too buggy and overgrown for a casual dayhike with no major payoff. For those of you heading further out, it's nothing to worry about, but other folks may want to consider other options. Lots of interesting flora though - can't remember the last time I saw so much wild ginger.
