Frog Mountain

8 miles R/T
2189 E/G

I really enjoyed this hike . We started trail shortly after 7 am . It took us about 4 hours with a 15 minute snack break at top.

Trail is in great condition. It’s a steady but easy climb up following the switchbacks. The first 2 miles you are covered in trees then the trail opens up . We had the trail to ourselves all the way up .

At around 3.2 miles there’s big hole in trail so watch your step.

It was a mostly clear day so we had views all the way up .

The birds are singing, the squirrels are running around. The wildflowers are booming . A few of the the wildflowers I noticed : Mountain Spirea, Broadleaf Lupine,Purple Foxglove,Subalpine Fleabane, Sitka Mountain Ash,Edible thistle,Broadleaf Arnica, Cascade Beardtongue, Sitka Valerian, Columbia Lily (Tiger lily) .

When we got to the top the clouds were still covering the top of the mountains but it was gorgeous anyway. There were bugs out but they mostly left me alone .

On the way back down plenty of hikers were heading up. We arrived at trailhead shortly after 11 am.
