This is such a sweet trail. We went counterclockwise. Next time, I’d try clockwise. There is minimal elevation gain and most of the path is soft dirt and pine. You meander along the icicle gorge and then dip back into the forest and then back along the gorge. We went later in the day finishing around 7 in the evening. I wouldn’t do this hike as a a solo hiker due to the proximity of the road. I’d feel a bit vulnerable. With a hiking partner it was awesome.
