Blanca Lake — Sunday, Jul. 6, 2025

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

📍 Blanca Lake, WA – A Hike Worth Every Switchback Started early to navigate the bumpy forest service road (think potholes with lots of personality) and scored a spot near the small trailhead before it filled up. The trail was lively but not overcrowded—just enough fellow hikers to feel the buzz without losing the backcountry ambience.

🐛 Bugs? Mildly interested in us, but easy to shake if we kept moving. 🧗‍♀️ Terrain? Steep with relentless switchbacks—bring stamina and maybe a personal pep talk. 🏞️ Reward? Absolutely breathtaking. Stunning! Blanca Lake glows with an otherworldly greenish turquoise hue, fed by the Columbia glacier, framed by granite, alpine peaks…its like a gem tucked deep in the Cascades. Hands down, the most stunning lake I’ve hiked to and gets a 5-star from me.

If you’re up for the grind, Blanca’s got the glory. One of Washington’s must-see treasures.
