Day hiked Pratt lake trailhead to Melakwa and back the same way. No snow except above Melakwa lake in patches, bugs not too bad at Tuscohatchie lake or Melakwa.
Some overgrown areas of trail passing Pratt lake, more heading from Pratt to Tuscohatchie. The worst stretch was the lower section of the trail from Tuscohatchie to Melakwa.
Met a ranger with pruning shears on the way back and gave them the details and they said they would work on getting the trail cleared.
Other than near the parking lot and at Melakwa, I only met 1 person (trail runner) the whole 18 miles.
Such a beautiful area.
