Arrived at 8:00 to plenty of parking, but it was a rainy day, so I think that helped. From the start, the trail flora was beautiful, even in the misty morning. There are plenty of magnificent old trees, some with sculptural forms at the base, and the trail crosses a large creek, providing a nice viewpoint from the bridge. Other reports warned of wet crossings, but, other than the rain, my feet didn't get wet at all, now that the snowmelt has subsided. There were numerous wildflowers at the lake, including penstemon, monkey flower, columbia lily and many others. Numerous small waterfalls lined the lake as well. All in all a delightful hike, even in the wet conditions.
