Trail is in great condition without any snow on the trail. Several blowdowns that were navigable. As of today bugs were not an annoyance while moving during the morning when ambient temperatures ranged from about 55 to 65 with little wind. Maybe they would swarm if you stopped, but I tried to not stop. With only some hastily applied picardin spray I did not get a single bite during 4 hours on the trail. YMMV. Lots of dogs on the trail including several unleashed ones whose owners decided that they were exempt from the wilderness rules today. I-90 eastbound was a breeze from 6-7am but I saw some longer backups due to lane restrictions around noon.
