We were there at 8am and there were 5-6 spot available in the upper parking lot. Toilets in the parking lot is a bless, but note that the men's toilet doesn't lock from inside, so you need someone at the door 😜.
Weather was perfect. Most of trail was in shade until you get to the talus. Gentle breeze at the Talus was nice. Old trail is in good enough condition for the hike up. We hiked down the same way, the last 1 mile was very slippery, no roots, trees far away hence can't hold for support.
Overall a great hike. We felt anyone with decent hunting background can pull it off with pacing oneself well. Our 10 year old pulled it off comfortably. I had to take several breaks. Water + electrolytes + food is very important.
