Beckler Peak — Wednesday, Jul. 16, 2025

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
View to Glacier Peak

I am going to second or third the reviews that say a sedan will never make it, they are correct.  There are some hairpin turns on the road up that are tight and have some big ruts.  Trucks and SUV with higher clearance, no problem, the Prius is going to get stuck.  Some of the ruts are probably in the 8 to 12 inch range and some big potholes as well.  The road ends up being a long drive, the turn onto it off 2 comes up quick and isn't really marked well that I could see.

The hike is great, super nice well built trail with a nice grade.  I would put this in the moderate category for hikes.  The last water right now is at two miles, so about half way.  I would assume that will dry up by the end of the summer.  There were flies that were an annoyance and some of the trail is getting overgrown, so you will push through the brush and spider webs (particularly if you are first).  The 360 degree view at the top is totally worth it on a clear day.

My garmin said it was 8.05 miles round trip and 2280 ascent.  If you keep up a good pace, three hours is a good time, 4 hours makes it a nice hike.

The other Beckler peaks, which looks to be a scramble and harder to do.
Typical of the trail condition

Muledeer on Beckler Peak

I drove my Crosstrek up there last year, and it was tricky then, but then I'm old and less tolerant of risk. I love that trail, but never again on that road
