Because it was a scorching hot day we weren't looking for anything too hard or sun exposed, so this hike ended up being perfect! Very little elevation gain with a majority of the trail being in the shade of the forest. Huckleberries are beginning to ripen and mosquitos were present but not overly terrible. Lots of water crossings along the way for our dog to stay cool & hydrated.
