This is a good one for those who may not be in the kind of hiking shape they want to be (or those who are no longer in the kind of hiking shape they once were). This was a date hike with soaringeagle and we took it at a 'contemplative' pace. We saw a few Indian pipe, scrounged enough berries for pancakes and had lunch by the river. The trail is in good shape, one blowdown to step over and a bit overgrown in a few spots, but good tread. The hucks are about gone, blue ones are mushy and red ones getting that way. There are some thimbleberries and some nice little trailing blackberries. There is some fall color already on the vine maple, probably heat stress, the forest is very dry. Loo in good shape with TP today.
