We parked at the trailhead at 6:30 am and there was a decent amount of cars already there. We hiked the trail counterclockwise. Plenty of Marmot sightings in the first meadow and an abundance of blueberries. The huckleberries were not quite ripe yet. GPS said we traveled 7.69 miles roundtrip with about 2200 feet of elevation gain. Total time was about 4.5 hours which was not bad doing this with two nine year olds. Mosquitoes were terrible once you got on the ridge at Heather Pass.
