North Fork Tieton to Tieton Pass — Thursday, Jul. 17, 2025

South Cascades > Goat Rocks
View from the trail

This was an access point to the PCT for a PCTA work party.  We met some Forest Service staff on the way in and they cleared most obstacles in the first mile.  On the way out on 7/20, the PCTA crew logged from Tieton Pass back toward the trailhead.  Mile 2-3 are the worst with some fairly sizable burned blowdowns.  They are navigable but not fun to deal with.  There is also a some overgrowth that could use a trim in one section but it doesn't last for too long.  There are some views of the Goat Rocks through the burn zone but if it's hot you'll be wishing for the green tunnel!  TONS of berries!

No, but it is significantly better. There are some fairly big blowdowns from mile 2-3 but there are paths around them.
