I decided to go on this trail when I saw that it started at Longmire and it had been a long time since I've been there, I wanted a longer hike and this fit the bill perfectly and I thought that if the weather was good, a great view at the end.
Unfortunately for me, the sun decided to hide itself a couple hours into the hike so by the time I got to Reflection Lake, I did not get a shot of Mt. Rainier on the lake but Mt. Rainier was still out and overall it was still a great day for a hike.
The trail itself for the most part is well marked and fairly free of any obstructions. There are tree roots and rocks that are in the path so it isn't a flat surface but nothing like a fallen tree in the way. There was really only 1 point that is a little confusing and that is after the Bridge crossing the river, the path is a little unclear, you want to go up and to the left of the bridge. Once you find the path again, the rest was generally well marked and noticeable.
If you have never done so, I do also recommend stopping at longmire before the hike (or after depending on the hours) and seeing some of the buildings there.
My only real complaint with this trail is that there are good chunks of it that you are walking near the road so you hear the cars passing by which ruins that nature hike away from everything in my view.
Overall though I enjoyed the hike, It was a nice distance that took most of the day but was easily doable in a day.
