We did a day summit for sunrise then camped at Lunch Counter before heading down early morning during sunrise. Trail was great. It started in a forest, then over a creek that you can refill water at 2.2 miles. And then rocks and snow up to Lunch Counter, followed by even more snow at a steep grade to the false summit. Honestly wouldn’t recommend going as late as we did for sunset as the snow and ice was too hard for glissading at night and the wind gusts were practically knocking us over. We were the only ones at the summit! Views were great because we got a clear day. Clocked at 7.2 feet gain and around 14 miles. Highly recommend!
