The original trail is blocked off for restoration/due to erosion so there is an alternate beginning. There are signs, you still start by the yurt, then go behind buildings (Inn maybe, I didn't look), then the new trail intersects with another rocky trail, (there is a sign). Keep on this trail until the 'traditional' trail starts.

Mosquitos at Elizabeth Lake not as bad but will suck you dry
We opted to hike to the gondola vs going back through the mosquitos. And walked the service road down feeling sorry for the Frisbee golf players loosing their discs
Mud in the beginning, dry as you leave the 2 mail lakes
