We hiked the Pratt River connector trail to find the Big Tree Trail and the biggest Doug Fir I have ever seen. There were stretches on the connector trail before the camp that were overgrown with salmon berries. The Pratt River trail after the camp to Big Tree trail is just a mile but SO overgrown you can barely see the trail and the trail itself only a foot wide - both conditions make hiking poles almost impossible to use. It’s quite rocky in places but you can hardly see them. The .3 on the Big Tree trail to the tree is a pretty rough trail. The tree is certainly worth the effort - magnificent- but the trail is a mess. Two years ago it was bad, but much worse than I remember!
