The trail was excellent, well maintained. No bush-whacking necessary. Started from and return to Red Town trailhead since Red Cedar is fenced off for sewer repair. Parking was nearly empty at 8:30 am and almost full at noon on Wednesday. Most hiker went east to Cougar Mt, and we saw 8 others in Coal Creek trail. The water level in the creek is low but there is still water coming down North Fork Falls. The historic info is a nice touch and the trail is very well signed. Many maples, red cedars and hemlocks, and the blackberries are ripening. Overall, a great hike so close to the city!
