Annette Lake — Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
The lake under misty, drizzly skies

Hiked to Annette for lunch and return (originally planned to camp but after it rained hard overnight decided to play it by ear, and after reviewing the site options at the lake decided I was more in the mood for a nice day hike with a training pack than a pretty wet and muddy camp). Still glad I went as it was a lovely hike on a cloudy, misty day.

Parking lot was about 2/3 full when I arrived at about 8:30, and mostly full but with spots starting to open up from departing morning hikers when I returned at 13:30. The short segment of unpaved road to the trailhead has its share of potholes but should be passable by city cars going slowly and with care; that said be aware that the transition from paved to unpaved is a bit harder a drop than it looks from the unpaved side so take it slower than you think you need to.

Trail is in great condition, and aside from one section of stairs that was pretty inundated not even too muddy/puddly. The early blueberries are starting to come in, along the trail anything ripe within reach is pretty picked but at the lake there were enough on the bushes for a few sweet tastes.
