North Centennial Trail (Snohomish) — Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Old Railroad Track Left for History

Another excellent day for a walk, ride, hike, stroll or horseback ride along the Centennial Trail. This is last last portion of my Three Part Series. I chose to ride my bike as usual as it was around ten miles out and then ten miles back. This section of the trail is in good shape. Several areas with bumps and warning signs but as I said in the last two videos of this Three Part Series the whole trail is blacktop. Hopefully they will work to fix them soon. All and all a nice trail that gets extensive use especially on the weekends. This last section is about 85 percent in the woods with some nice views. At this Southend across 1st street you will see a small wooded trail that will take you out to the old railroad bridge trestle  crossing over Snohomish River that I hope will be converted to a trail in the future so we can hook up Pierce and King County to this trail. I believe that the section just across the river might still be an active railroad section as you can hear the trains in my video as I am right near the Snohomish River. Well worth your time to check this trail out but if you try to do all 30 miles in one day I suggest it be with someone who can pick you up at one end or the other. I did not have the luxury of this so I did it in three parts at around 20 miles each part as I had to return to where I started. Checkout the video below of this hike or check out my Vimeo Channel link below of over 450 other hikes and bikes I have done in Washington State and beyond.

As always get out and see this beautiful state and enjoy you own hiking and biking.

Take Care,

Mike
