Labyrinth Mountain, Minotaur Lake — Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025

I thought the road past the Valhalla trailhead got a bit rockier than normal. I was glad to have a high clearance vehicle but maybe others would be okay too, especially if you take it slowly. The trail both to the lake and the mountain is steep but pretty easy to follow. It was worth it to add on the summit of Labyrinth Mountain. It was a bit cloudy but the views were still great. Bugs didn’t seem to be an issue, although maybe because it was a cooler day. We were only the 5th car in the parking lot at 8:30am on a Sunday and several of those cars belonged to backpackers heading down. Perhaps 15-20 cars when we got back to the trailhead at 1:30pm.
