Margaret Lake — Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Margaret Lake by elizajohnston

Fun, easy hike. We arrived at the TH around 08:30 on a Sunday and snagged one of the last spots (~12 cars in the lot) but there was room along the road for more parking. Issuing the permit was simple and the box looked like it had just been stocked.

The trail itself just starts with up, and had lots of loose rocks but given the rain the previous day wasn’t dusty and fortunately wasn’t slick either. It’s fairly easy to miss the turn off toward the trail along the logging road – so keep your eyes peeled for the marker with a piece of high vis orange tape on the left hand side! – but the trail itself is well maintained and easy to follow. The lake was beautiful with lots of ripe blueberries along the way.

As a reminder, please practice LNT and as there is no toilet at the TH or pit toilet at the lake, if you are going to use tp PACK IT OUT. Thank you so much to the USFS volunteer we saw on the trail and every other volunteer/member of the forest service!
