Trip Report

Mount Daniel, Peggy's Pond — Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
The recess on the north side of the gendarme before reaching the turn-off to the East Peak.

I scrambled Mount Daniel from the Cathedral Rock Trailhead. The forest service road to the trailhead is in fantastic condition, with very few potholes and minor washboarding. The Scatter Creek Crossing is a mere puddle, and any car could drive through/around it. The route is in great condition, with only minor route finding required on the upper portion of the SE ridge. If you stay on route, the scrambling should not exceed class 2/easy class 3. No snow/ice along the entire ridge. Great views of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness from the summit.

Looking back along the exposed bootpath beneath the East Peak.
The summit block.
The view north towards Pea Soup Lake and Dip Top Peak.
