Blanca Lake — Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
Blanca Lake

Beautiful Blanca! A lovely hike, and popular for a reason. We arrived at 7:30A on a summer Wednesday to only three other vehicles in the lot. Had the trail almost entirely to ourselves on the way up, somewhat busier on the way down. Although nothing too precipitous or technical, this is on the harder side of a "hard" hike. It's steadily steep all the way up to the ridge, then a steep scramble down to the big lake itself. Hiking poles were really helpful, as was having packed in plenty of water on this humid day. Trail was rooty but in solid shape, with evidence of great past builds by WTA work parties--thank you, volunteers!

Just under six hours on the trail, with a short stop for an early lunch at the lake.
