Puyallup Loop Trail — Sunday, Sep. 7, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
trailhead i started from

as others have noted, a great trail surrounded by lush greenery, trail itself was overall very good, although there were some areas that i had to be careful because of slanting towards the edge. a lot of up and down walking involved, and for the most part there were signs indicating the direction to go. no  poles but it would have come in handy at certain points. i wore my hiking boots today as it has been neglected, and as it turned out I'm glad i did. i lost the trail twice, either the signs were not there or probably i missed seeing them. i went on a small trail that petered out, and i had to kinda bushwack my way back onto the trail as backtracking would be even more difficult. the other time i thought i was going in the wrong direction and followed my phone gps to another side trail that went down and pretty steep. i took my time and luckily there were trees and roots that i could use for stability and to hold on to while going down. i came out where the police firing range was and was glad no one was there. from there i was able to get back to the trailhead. it really is a beautiful place and there are many side trails but be careful and dont be me...
