We only made it about a half mile before we ran into a rattlesnake on the trail, it spooked us pretty bad since the trail is so overgrown and bushy, and we have a dog who sniffs everything. The snake gave us a good warning with a rattle but was still within striking distance so we decided it wasn't worth it to continue. I love this area, but stay alert.
