Hiked this from the entrance off of the road near tall moss rock, parking at the pull out. As far as I know, no pass is required at that particular parking area.
Perfect weather hike in prime season. Notable haze throughout the day. We hiked all the way to the campground and borrowed a picnic table for lunch, returning the way we came just after. Decent amount of wildfire aroma on the way out.
This trail never gets old- lush, quiet and not as well travelled as one might imagine in this busy area. One thing I learned was that there are a few spur trails to a rock climbing area about 2/3 the way in (observed a hearty group on said crag).
Beautiful mossy carpet everywhere, fall fungi beginning in earnest and all creeks are dried up.
