I decided to spend the night, along with approximately 6 to 8 other tents. I was surprised at the number of overnighters until I remembered it was a Friday night.
The road in is a bit rough. As always there was a Toyota Prius at the trailhead. You're always guaranteed there'll be one which amazes me.
I got to the trailhead around 3pm. The hike took me 1 hour and 15 minutes. The majority of the overnighters showed up after me. Unfortunately one site was pretty noisy. They don't understand how their noise amplifies in a lake basin.
Hiking out this Saturday morning was nice. I counted 37 day hikers heading in before I reached my truck at 9:10am. The trail is in great condition.

My theory about the Priuses is that they're owned by some young man upset that his wife or GF made him buy it "for the environment" instead of the Dodge RAM he really wanted. So he frequently takes it out on the trails hoping it'll fall apart so he can say to her "See? They're just junk. Now I want my pickup!".
