Hiked to the lake today and not much to add to previous reports. Trail starts easy, soon gets gnarly through the burn area, then improves considerably near the Glacier Peak Wilderness boundary. When you reach the base of the big talus-filled gully near the head of the valley (not too far beyond a small pond), the trail heads right to a very long rotten log. At the far end of the log, hang a left up the skinny talus slope above (cairns). Stay in the rocks and the intermittent path will get you up to the lake. Lower down, there are about two dozen downed trees and snags across the trail, a couple around three feet diameter, the rest mostly under a foot, but none too difficult to get over or around. This great old trail deserves some love.
