Glacier Lake, Chikamin Peak — Saturday, Sep. 27, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

Chikamin Peak has been on my list for a while. Pulled up to the trailhead about 7:45am, few cars at the parking, no toilet. Plan was to hike to Glacier lake, drop backpacking gear and head to summit. It took us about 3.5 hrs to get to the lake. Encountered only one other hiking party on our way up. Beautiful fall colors on the meadows above tree line, lots of berries. Trail to the lake was in great condition, very maintained and easy to follow. Once we parked out stuff by the glacier lake, after short break we left to the summit. Took a trail on the right side of the lake towards boulder field. From this point we mostly relied on GPS and scattered carns. There is another little lake above the boulders, beautiful place to camp. After this little lake, trail was clear in some areas and not at all in others. Scramble to the top was nothing more than class 2, maybe few class 3 moves, definitely one of the easiest scrambles I've ever climbed. It was roughly 3 miles from Glacier lake to the top. We were the only party on the top. Incredible views from the summit were unfortunately obscured by nearby fires. Got back to the lake around 4pm and realized that we still have hours until sleep so decided to abandon our initial camping plan and return back to the trailhead. It took us around 2:45 hours to get back to our car.

My garmin clocked in 19.5 miles and 7K of elevation gain.
