Old Commonwealth shortcut is in great shape all the way from parking lot to false summit of Lundin. Fall colors turning.
Trickiest part of the ridge/summit seemed to be the initial Class 3 downclimb at false summit, but it’s pretty chill. You then wrap around the far backside of another false summit before dropping a bit of elevation preceding the final slab scramble. It was dry for us and felt very comfortable. Good holds. Class 4, but really just because of the exposure. The ramp isn’t that narrow. But wouldn’t be as confident if rock was wet. Fantastic summit views. We rappelled the slab, just because we had brought the rope, but a downclimb definitely felt doable.
