Plan on about 45 min from Mazama to make it up the forest road. It's rough and washboardy at many places and just takes some time. We went Monday morning and there was only 1 other car in the parking lot. Larches are great right now! It's a steady climb but worth the views. For such peak season, I love that this hike is never as busy as the ones right off highway 20.
