This was a trip to the summit of Dungeon Peak on a beautiful fall day. Since the description on the WTA page is sparse, I'll say that anyone considering a similar trip should know that there is no trail that goes all the way to the summit, and you should expect to do some route finding and scrambling even if you happen to come across some of the bootpaths that are scattered around the mountain. But in good weather the trip is well worth the effort.
The road to the backdoor trailhead is very rough; I would not take a sedan on it. After reaching Lake Lillian, we kept to the left edge of the lake and then worked our way up the mountainside. At the higher elevations there were a surprising number of blueberries, as well as some fall foliage.
