The road is even worse than when I went in August. Especially at the top of the trail, the washouts are deep and wide. I have a truck and would not suggest anything that isn't 4x4.
No snow yet. Blueberries still but they're at the end of the season.
Camped at Twin Lakes overnight to see the super moon. It gets windy and cold, but it's a nice spot to overnight for your hike
