Barnum Point — Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Eagle out on a rock point.

It was the perfect day to hike around Barnum in the beautiful October sun. We arrived at the gravel parking area and after checking the map picked the trails we wanted to check out. We took the beach trail first. Really nice trail, wide enough for people to walk side by side and it's in great shape. Once down at the beach then walked it the entire length to pick up Carolines trail.  While walking the beach we enjoyed a heron, eagle and some gulls who were out today. Luckily the tide was out so we had a wide area to walk. Once back on solid ground we explored that southern end a bit and then took the Barnum trail back to the parking lot. We really enjoyed the park and the trails and we will be back again another day.  We covered 2 miles.

I think these are porcelain berry but not sure. Also a lot of rose hips along the Barnum trail.
