The previous weekend’s storms sped up the loss of leaves on trees, but there’s still quite a bit of color to see in the Seattle area where Kubota Garden and Seward Park are located. I took advantage of a nice autumn weekday to visit both spots located about 3 miles apart. Parking wasn’t an issue until later in the day when I was leaving Seward. Both locations offer the flexibility to decide how far you want to go, but Seward definitely provides the opportunity to put more miles in and whether to do that on an actual dirt trail amongst the tall trees or staying on pavement along the waterfront. Kubota currently has quite a few plants with some interesting berries of various shapes and colors. And many Japanese maples with twisty curvy trunks. These urban hikes were a satisfying way to spend time outside enjoying this season!
