Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Ducks Taking Flight

A windy day at the spit. The first thing that caught my attention was a kite surfer. Next was a couple bald eagles over the bay. One thing that can be common in the area was not to be seen-herons. Maybe it was the wind. A little farther north along dike trail there were a few hundred ducks hanging out on the land until one of the eagles approached them and there was a disturbance of ducks taking to the air heading south. The eagle paid no attention and kept going.

I went through the Hobbit Trail where the distraction of weirdness due to the growing hobbit or gnome population is taking over. Kids would enjoy it.
